Lux Upholstery is a marine upholstery atelier on the Bay of Kotor, founded by Marija Franović, hand-finishing yacht and superyacht interiors for owners the length of the Adriatic — from Porto Montenegro to the Dalmatian coast. Every seam is sewn by hand, in materials built to survive salt, sun and speed.

Lux Upholstery was founded in Kotor by Marija Franović, built around a simple conviction: a yacht's interior deserves the same craftsmanship as its hull. What began as a small atelier on the Boka Bay now serves owners of some of the most distinguished yachts and superyachts along the Adriatic coast.
Every commission is carried by seamstresses with many years at the needle — hands trained on silk, leather, and marine canvas long before they touched a single stitch for us. Nothing leaves the workshop until it meets a standard we would be proud to sign.
We work in close quarters with owners, captains, and interior designers alike, from first swatch to final fitting, on board or ashore.
The Craft

Marine upholstery has to survive what a living room never will — spray, sun, heel and the constant flex of a hull underway. Our seamstresses trained on domestic couture long before they moved to the water, and it shows in the finish: tight radii, hidden zips, and stitching that stays true after a decade of Adriatic summers.

We work only with textiles rated for continuous marine exposure — every roll is tested for UV resistance, salt tolerance and colourfastness before it reaches the atelier.
Marine Leather
Italian full-grain, salt and UV treated for helm seating and interior salons.
Performance Canvas
Solution-dyed outdoor fabric for sunpads, cockpits and exposed cushions.
Teak-Trimmed Panelling
Solid teak detailing hand-fitted along bolsters and cabinetry edges.
Batyline Mesh
Fast-drying woven mesh for tender seating and cockpit bolsters.

On-Board Consultation
We come to your berth or marina, in Kotor or elsewhere on the coast, to measure and assess in situ.
Material Selection
Swatches are brought aboard and matched against your hull colour, deck and natural cabin light.
Atelier Fabrication
Every panel is hand-cut and sewn at our Kotor workshop, piece by piece, seam by seam.
Onboard Fitting
We install and finish dockside, so your interior is ready before you cast off.

Where We Work
Based in Kotor,
afloat across the Adriatic.
Our atelier sits inside the Bay of Kotor, a short tender ride from the marinas of Tivat and Porto Montenegro. We travel to owners along the Adriatic coast, from Montenegro up through Croatia, for consultation, fitting and installation.
